We were really excited to see so many backers participate in this survey, it really makes this project feel like we are a part of such a ~magical~ community.

                                            So, what’s the next step?

Lisa will begin designing the printing specs of her original artwork and we will have the first sample made and sent to us for review!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!! Of course, the second we have a physical bag to show you...we will!!!

Changing gears here a bit, we want to share something very exciting happening for the Glam Fam this weekend. As we’ve mentioned, our Co-Founder and CEO Jessica Romano is getting married!!

We wanted to invite you all to join in on the festivities this Saturday evening, November 4th, as we will be live streaming from the wedding celebration! If you have an Instagram, follow along @glamourdollsmakeup and with the hashtag #SayYestotheJess !!! If you don’t have an Insta, make one, because we post really cute videos of our office dog Beetlejuice :)

We’ve seen your comments and have no fear, the Bitten & Bronzed Bronzer and the Single Eyeshadows are still set for delivery the first week in November! We can’t wait to see you all get them!!

Eyeshadow Palette Artwork Updates ROUND 2 and Shipping Update!!!

Hi Backers!! 

Look what showed up on our doorstep this morning!!!! We absolutely COULD NOT WAIT to share with you all, we were screaming with excitement when we opened up the package!

Before you watch this video, please note that this is just the FIRST physical sample of the Naturally Glam Eyeshadow Palette and Bold and Bright Eyeshadow Palette. Please also note that these are NOT the final eyeshadow colors. They are only placeholders to visualize pigments in the pan!

So, like we said, this is just a “first draft” video of these palettes but COME ON!! HOW GORGEOUS ARE THESE?!?!?!?! We literally couldn’t just keem ‘em to ourselves :) You should have heard all of us Dolls gasp once we did the big reveal here in the office!

We also thought it would be cool to point out why we’re so careful to make sure everything is absolutely perfect before going into final production. Check out the Naturally Glam Eyeshadow Palette for example. Do you see how the cat’s faces aren’t perfectly lined up? That’s something that we look for when we get in samples like this! The Bold and Bright Palette is way better, except that a little ear pops out (wassup Forrest) in the upper corner.

Okay, cool. So what’s the next step?

Lisa will get physical samples, make edits, and work her magic. We get another round of samples and then move into final production! EEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!!!!

Of course, it’s totally possible that the second round of samples might also require some reworking, but we don’t stop until all products look perfect! 

Also, we wanted to share an update about our fulfillment process because we get LOTS of questions about tracking information, order fill time, etc.

A few weeks ago we made a game-time decision to outsource our shipping processes. Right now, we have about 10 Dolls in the Doll House on a given day and we do all order fulfillment in-house of our online store orders. It’s WILD but fun!!

Because our little Glam Fam has grown to be not-so-little anymore (YAY!!!), we decided to partner with an outside agency for fulfillment. The coordination of these efforts have been a little time-consuming, but we really believe it will greatly improve efficiency for your packages and for the future of Glamour Dolls!!

A note/short story about the travel bronzer/ travel eye shadow shipment:

So, it’s almost the end of October & lots of you are asking for updates on the travel bronzer and travel eyeshadow shipments. We were SO EXCITED because we had absolutely everything perfect for the best surprise shipment EVER.

Then, THEY GOT STUCK IN CUSTOMS FOR 2 WEEKS.

Yeah, good times. Here’s the backstory:

The FDA has the authority to regulate and randomly choose items such as cosmetics for inspection. It has happened to us before, and is nothing to be concerned about, but in our unlucky case it took 2 weeks for the inspection to occur and finally be sent on it’s way. The good news is the makeup is finally on its way to New York from customs and once it arrives to our fulfillment facility they will immediately be shipped to you. We apologize for the delay! The wait has been just as just as painful for us!!

Being as today is 10/26, we expect the product to arrive to the shipping facility AND be SHIPPED TO YOU on 10/31, and therefore you should expect the makeup on your doorstep during the first week in November.

We hope you like the first peek at the Naturally Glam Eyeshadow Palette and Bold and Bright Eyeshadow Palettes! It is truly a surreal experience to be able to physically hold these items that we have all worked so long on. We really can’t wait for them to be in your hands soon too!

Eyeshadow Palette Artwork Updates

Hi Backers!! 

Woooooo, WHO’S EXCITED FOR EYESHADOW PALETTE UPDATES????!!!!

We’ve been working hard here at the Doll House and we figured that now is as good a time as ever to share what we’ve been up to!! Lisa has been perfecting the art that is going to be placed on each of the three palettes that we’re producing, and we are SO EXCITED TO SHOW YOU ALL!!!

As a refresher, we all voted on what colors to include in two of the three palettes that we’re producing. The third palette is curated by Lisa Frank SUPERFAN, Wengie!!

We would like to address the rainbow unicorn that is in the room, and that’s in regards to shipping the #Wengiecorn palette. We know that quite a few of you purchased the early-delivery option that estimated August delivery. It’s now September so we clearly sparkled right on past that estimate. Why are we late? Well, two things. First...we’re making a custom mold for these palettes, meaning that nooooobody has done ‘em before! Similar to the problem we ran into with the Unicorn horn of the nail polish bottles in our last update, these tri-fold palette molds simply don’t exist (surprise!!) which means that creating them requires a LOT of back-and-forth with our factory!

Second, we learned (the hard way, of course) that shipping to Australia is totally annoying!!! Wengie lives “down under,” and the postal service lost not one set of sample shadows sent to her BUT TWO!!!!!!! UGH!!! We’ve been going back-and-forth to perfect the formulas and color selection and as a result of both issues, we’re running behind schedule.

What does this mean for all of you who purchased early delivery? As SOON as the colors are chosen and the palette is ready, we’re shipping it RIGHT out the door and you’ll still be the first to receive it before anyone else! That won’t change.

We are OBSESSED with how this palette artwork has turned out, we truly feel like the magical world of Lisa Frank is coming to life right before our very eyes!!! The best part is that we were able to take all of your recommendations and create three super unique palettes that capture the glittery, rainbow-filled world that we all LOVE!

Now, we also wanted to quickly address a few of the questions that we’re seeing pop up from our last update:

• If you backed the Mini Travel Bronzer or the Single Eyeshadow, we will be shipping only those two products out early as a THANK YOU from us for supporting this journey! Those two products will start being shipped on October 1, 2017.

First Delivery + Digital Background + Nail Polish Update

Hi everyone, 

Can we first start off by saying a HUGE THANK YOU to this community for the awesome response you all gave us on our last update? We were literally crying rainbow tears of happiness at the love and support every single one of you sent our way. You all ROCK!!!!

As promised, we wanted to share the first (of many!!!) product-specific updates with you all and reiterate some of the happy details we mentioned earlier in the week.

Remember when we shared the first samples of the Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls Bitten & Bronzed Travel Matte Bronzer and Single Eyeshadow? Well, as we mentioned we FINISHED PRODUCTION!

As a huge THANK YOU for supporting us throughout this journey, we’ve decided to ship out the orders EARLY for those of you who backed a tier that includes them or added them to their pledge afterward in Backerkit!

SO TO RECAP!! IF YOU ORDERED: 

• The Mini Travel Bronzer 
• The Single Eyeshadow

You will be receiving those products separately, before the end of October. Please note that we will start shipping these products out starting OCTOBER 1, 2017. That means we need to have your updated mailing address ASAP! Please send a message via Kickstarter or send an email to [email protected] and we’ll get ya updated in our system!

This surprise shipment WILL NOT IMPACT the rest of the products you ordered. You will not have to pay for shipping twice, nor will you need to do anything to ensure that you receive the rest of your goodies once they’re produced. We’ll handle all that!

Now, we know that a bunch of you have been asking about the Lisa Frank Digital Background, and we wanted to address the hiccup we ran into with that particular product. After much back-and-forth with our design teams, we learned about how easy it is for mean people to steal digital artwork and turn it into knockoff products. Can you believe that’s really a thing?!

In order to protect the integrity and international copyrights of Lisa’s art, we’ve decided that instead of producing a digital file for you all, we’d open the magical Lisa Frank vault and gift those of you who ordered the digital background with a physical product instead!! What’s the product going to be?! A vintage Lisa Frank postcard!!! And of course, that’s not all… A select 25 of you (chosen at random) will receive a postcard with an AUTOGRAPH from Lisa Frank herself!

As a result of the switch from a digital file to a physical product, everyone who should have received the digital background will now receive the Lisa Frank Postcard with the entirety of your order once all products are manufactured.

Now, we know that all of you are also SO EXCITED for an update regarding the Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls Nail Polish. As a reminder, the three color winners were Purple, Turquoise, and Glitter! We knew that we really wanted to do something special to the bottle of the nail polishes and how much more LISA FRANK can you get than a UNICORN HORN CAP?!?!?!

SO COOL right?! Keep in mind that these are JUST art renderings, nothing is finalized just yet. Want a closer look? Here’s a mechanical shot of one of the options!

So super interesting note for everyone... To make these caps we found we have to make a custom mold, because unicorn horn nail polish caps are something that doesn’t exist in the market (shocking lol).

One thing we learned is to create your own mold, first you have to 3D render a CAD file- this is not the same as a CAT file (meow). This then goes to the factory for a prototype. You learn something new every day, am I right?

We also wanted to share a quick boomerang of the PINK GLITTER nail polish!!!! Of course, proper nail swatches to come in our next updates, all of the dolls in the Doll House have their nails already painted for Generation Beauty this weekend!!!  ;)

We will have another update for you awesome Backers next week, we just wanted to share all of this info with you because it’s obviously too fabulous to keep to ourselves! These products wouldn’t be here without the support of all of you Backers, and for that we are forever grateful!
